Kylie Minogue
Oh dear... Kylie Minogue has had to respond to internet complaints about her mimed performance of her new song ‘Get outta my way’ at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade last Thursday... Kylie who performed alongside Jessica Simpson and Kanye West mimed her vocals on her new single but fans soon turned to social networking sites to voice their anger resulting in Kylie having to address her followers, saying: “Relax peeps, EVERYONE has to mime at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade!! (sic)” ...
i too say ‘Get over it!”
i too say ‘Get over it!”

Lady Gaga and Elton John
Lady Gaga and Elton John have done another duet together which features on the film ‘Gnomeo and Juliet’ discussing the track Elton revealed: “GaGa was fantastic to work with - we did a duet called 'Hello, Hello'.”... “If I had a daughter it would be GaGa, no doubt. She has the same penchant for high shoes; she’s great.”
He continued: “She is influenced by so many people - you can see it... she is like all of us. When I first started out I was influenced by people and then you gradually form a character of your own.”

Kylie Minogue
Kylie Minogue has announced that she plans to release a remixed greatest hits album... (thank god it’s not another ‘normal’ greatest hits)
Kylie was in London yesterday where she performed an acoustic set of her well-known hits for BBC Radio 2 including: ‘Can't Get You Out Of My Head’, ‘All The Lovers’ and ‘In My Arms’
Speaking at Maida Vale studios, she said: “Thanks in no small part to the BBC, I've always loved working with an orchestra and doing acoustic sets, so we're looking to put together an album of the various songs in this kind of manner.”
Kylie also revealed that her acoustic performance of ‘Can't Get You Out Of My Head’ will be the B-side to her FANTASTIC new single ‘Better than today’... love to see this hit No.1

Westlife
Westlife have responded to Brian McFadden’s return to the band saying that it would be ‘boring’... Sorry to burst your bubble Brian! Earlier this week, Brain said that he is ‘Ready’ to reunite with his former band mates to take on the newly-reformed Take That.
However Shane Filan told a national newspaper that Brain McFadden’s offer will not be taken up... (Good on ye lads!)
Shanes is quoted as saying: “I don't think it's even remotely interesting if Brian came back... “Brian left because he didn't like being in the band. It wasn't because we fell out. For us as a band, we never split up. We've kept going and are very happy... “If another person came in it would be like restarting a new band.”
In reference to the comparisons between Brian’s prospective return and Robbie William's rejoining Take That, Shane said: “Robbie Williams coming back to Take That was a big announcement... “He's the biggest male solo performer of the past 20 years. You can't compare it.”
Ha-ha ha ha Brain!

'N Sync
Now i have to admit this made me laugh this morning after learning that Lance Bass said that he and his former 'N Sync band mates have no plans to reunite in the future... I’d love to see Justin Timberlake’s face when someone suggests that to him! - Lmao
Speaking to an Entertainment channel Lance said: “I don't see that coming anytime soon,” ... “Justin’s very busy with his acting career right now so I think it's going to be quite a while before we even think about doing anything.”
However, Lance did say that he would be interested in reuniting in the future, adding: “I love being on the stage. So yeah, anytime the guys would want to do an album, I'm in!” – i bet you are, actually... who’s Lance Bass...?

Mini Viva
It doesn’t really come as a surprise but Mini Viva have confirmed that they have split up.
Mini Vivi hit the Top10 with their debut single ‘Left my heart in Tokyo’ last year, but the follow-up singles ‘I wish’ and ‘One touch didn’t even get into the Top40 - charting at numbers 73 and 114 respectively.
In a statement band member Britt Love said: “First off all we would like to apologise for not being able to tell you sooner what was going on with Mini Viva,”... “It was something we had to decide for ourselves first and of course it was a big decision. “Both of us felt like the time was up for Mini Viva. We had tried so much and so had everyone who was supporting us. But sometimes things just don’t work out the way you would like them to.”
She continued: “We would just like to take this time to thank every single one of you for supporting us on our journey! We could not have asked for more loyal fans than you guys!”

Pulp
Fantastic news! Pulp have just announced that they are getting back together and will reform a couple of festivals next year!
In a press release it read: “Pulp have decided to get together and play some concerts next summer. The shows will involve all the original members of the band (Nick Banks, Jarvis Cocker, Candida Doyle, Steve Mackay, Russell Senior & Mark Webber) & they will play songs from all periods of their career (Yes, that means they'll be playing your favourites).” It went on to name specific concert dates: “Wireless Festival (Sunday, July 3) and Barcelona's Primavera Sound Festival (Friday, May 27) but described these dates as “the first shows”.
I used to love this band; it’d be great to hear some of their classic tracks live like: ‘Common people’ and Disco 2000.

Dizzee Rascal & Cheryl Cole
Gone are the days when two artists liked each other and decided to do a duet together (as in, in person) Dizzee Rascal has revealed that he is yet to even hear his collaboration with Cheryl Cole.
Dizzee features on Cheryl’s album track ‘Everybody, Everyone’ but he’s admitted that it’s like the duet “never happened”.
Speaking in a national newspaper Dizzee is quoted as saying: “It was like it never happened. I never saw her”... “They sent me three tracks and I basically picked the one I thought would be best. It saves money on planes: imagine going halfway across the world in first class then deciding that you don't like the person...”
Stupid if you ask me! I think two artist collaborating should be done because they genuinely like and respect each other and each other work and not for MONEY.

Christina only released her 4th album ‘Bionic’ earlier this year, she revealed that the new album will be “introspective” and have “a different vibe.
Speaking to a magazine she said: “Now I'm actually in the studio recording the next album, which has a different vibe... “I think now we're back to going a little deeper, in the vein where I recorded my ‘Stripped’ record, which was very personal and more introspective.”
Christina’s current album has been a global flop selling less than a million copies worldwide,
despite going to No.1 in the UK it was declared the lowest-selling UK number one in album chart history.

Congratulations to Cheryl Cole who has landed a record deal in America worth a staggering £6 MILLION!
Cheryl made a flying visit L.A this week where she hammered out the lucrative contract with record company Universal.
According to reports Universal has offered to release her new album ‘Messy Little Raindrops’ in America next year, in addition to two more albums.
According to a national newspaper a source is quoted as saying: “Cheryl got a call from some very senior people at Universal saying they wanted to see her. They are the kind of people who when they say, 'Jump,' you ask, 'How high?”... “So she jumped on a plane and went to LA for 36 hours. Derek [Hough] was there to ferry her to-and-fro and give her support as these big execs can be quite scary.”
Bosses at Universal are said to have called Cheryl Cole last Sunday night

Christina Aguilera
Nice payday if ye can get it huh!... It’ s being reported that Christina Aguilera earned herself a MASIIVE $1 MILLION for ... Get this... a 1 HOUR performance at a Halloween party last weekend.
Christina Aguilera was booked by investment guru Charles Brandes for the private set...
The reported paycheque, reportedly confirmed by insiders close to Aguilera, equates to $16,666 (£10,390) per minute, in addition to payments for styling, travel and other related costs.
Sources connected to Brandes dispute the figure, however, and claim that the value investor only paid $500,000 (£311,716) for Aguilera to sing at the event at his San Diego estate... Mmm i like the ‘only paid’ part... Lmao!

Prince
It’s being reported in some newspapers this morning that Prince will be performing on the final of this year's X Factor.
According to the reports Prince will fly to London for the show mid-way through his ‘Welcome 2 America’ tour .
It quotes a source “Simon Cowell had been trying to get Prince on the show for so long, he is a massive fan and it is a big coup... “At the moment the plans are being kept under wraps - but it will make for the biggest X Factor final ever seen.”
It also suggested that Prince had previously been sought for as a guest judge on the show... Princes new album (that he GAVE away in a newspaper is brilliant!)

Rihanna
Rihanna has admitted that she initially rejected the idea of recording a sequel song (with Eminem) to their global smash ‘Love the way you lie’
Rihanna initially feared undermining the track's success with a proposed follow-up for her new album ‘Loud’.
Speaking to a music channel Rihanna said “When I first heard the idea about doing a part two, I was just completely against it. I just felt like you couldn't beat the original. There's no way you can outdo that, so why compete with it?”
Later adding: “We heard a broken-down version that was stripped down, just piano... I fell in love with it. We recorded it, then we did another version to the stripped-down version with drums, then we did another version with drums and Eminem. And then that was the one that just felt really good. I love both. I love the broken-down version, as well as the new one with Eminem.”
I watched her performance on last nights X-Factor and it was absolutely fantastic!!!!

The Black Eyed Peas
Oh dear ... The Black Eyed Peas are being sued for alleged plagiarism for a second time! According to an entertainment channel Bryan Pringle filed a lawsuit in federal court in Santa Ana, California, claiming that The Peas plagiarised his song ‘Take a Dive’ in their global No.1 smash ‘I Gotta Feeling’.
A second lawsuit, originally filed back in January, was also re-entered in federal court in LA, alleging that The Peas other No.1 smash ‘Boom Boom Pow’ used elements of Phoenix Phenom's song ‘Boom Dynamite’.
Plaintiff lawyer Ira Gould said: “A simple listening of the two songs will tell you that the songs are substantially similar, and that the hooks of the two songs are virtually identical in rhythm and lyrics.”...
Other defendants named in the two suits include Interscope, UMG Records and EMI April Music. The plaintiffs are claiming monetary damages, including all net profits from the respective tracks and future royalties.

Nelly
Mmm... Can’t say i agree with you Nelly... He’s suggested that Kelly Rowland should return to her R&B roots if she wants to maintain her success in America.
He said that although he is a fan of her collaborations with David Guetta, her R&B tracks are more suited to the American market.
Speaking in a national newspaper Nelly is quoted as saying “Kelly is now known as a dance act in Europe and I'm really happy for her success. ‘Commander’ with David Guetta was incredible. She works so hard but over in the States they yearn for the R&B Kelly.
“It's a double-edged sword. But I understand where she's coming from. You have to be a versatile artist to survive, you can't just stick to one genre.”
Speaking of their new collaboration (the follow-up to their No.1 Dilemma) on his upcoming album, Nelly added: “It's always a pleasure to work with her. I went on tour with her in 2001 when she was in Destiny's Child, so we're tight. She's beautiful, talented and a real joker.”
He added that they would be ‘fools’ not to recreate the ‘magic’ of their 2002 duet 'Dilemma'.

Natasha Bedingfield
Natasha Bedingfield has confirmed that she will release her new album ‘Strip Me’ on 9th November.
She revealed that the albums 13 tracks were pulled from over 200 written while touring.
“I've been touring for so many years now that I wrote with my live gigs in mind," she explained... “I wanted to write anthems that people could sing along to - things that were still personal, but definitely trying to find the best way to connect with people.”
The video for the first single ‘Touch’ was released on 27th July.... (But has yet to make any chart impact ~ unless you count going to No.60 in Canada an impact?)

Eminem
Talk about interpreting a word ... ‘record’ may soon have a new meaning if Universal Music have their way ‘cos Eminem’s record label Universal has lost an appeal in a long-running battle with his former publishing company FBT Productions.
The ruling, which found that FBT is entitled to 50% of Universal's revenue from Eminem’s download sales, leaves Universal facing a multi-million dollar royalties bill.
FBT Productions signed Eminem in 1995, prior to his rise to fame. When he joined Universal, the deal included a 12% royalty to FBT for “records sold”. As no rate was stated in the contract for downloads, FBT claimed that it was entitled to half of Universal's digital receipts.
An initial hearing back in 2009 ruled in Universals favour, but an appeal by FBT has seen this overturned.
Universal Music has announced its intention to challenge the ruling... Intresting!

Busted
Yeah it certainly looks like it’s not gonna happen anymore as Charlie Simpson has reportedly turned down a ONE MILLION pound off for a reunion tour with former band Busted.
A source close to Charlie Simpson told a national newspaper: “He hates being associated with Busted. He had an unhappy time. He's in Fightstar now and also recording solo tracks.”

Katy Perry
Even global superstars have sales targets and Katy Perry is no exception and surprisingly she’s failed to meet hers! (I’m sure she’ll still get paid though)
Sales of Katy Perry's new album ‘Teenage Dream’ have reportedly concerned her bosses at EMI despite first-week sales of 192,000 in America, industry bosses have admitted that the album failed to match its projected sales of 400,000 copies.
The shortfall is now said to be forecasting the overall decline in album sales worldwide.
EMI boss Dominic Pandiscia is quoted as saying: “‘Teenage Dream’ fell short in one key area: It didn't meet first-week sales projections in the industry,”... “And that, in turn, has sparked worries that the album's performance may affect retail orders for other superstar releases due later this year.”
‘Teenage Dream’ has so far gone to No.1 in the album charts in 5 countries.

Lauryn Hill
Lauryn Hill has confirmed that she is moving forward with the recording of her new album.
Speaking to a music channel Lauryn said that she is excited at the prospect of releasing new material and that the album will not include many collaborations with other artists. “"We're getting closer. We're getting closer. That's all I can say,”... “It's been such a long time since I've gotten my voice and my ideas [out]. In terms of collaborations, that's not even something I've been thinking about per se. I'm happy that people are still making music. That we still have a platform with which to make music. It's gonna be interesting to see what the future holds.”
I certainly look forward to hearing her music, however whacky she seems to come across in the public eye, there’s no denying that she’s a fantastic voice!

McFly
McFly have revealed that they have almost completed their new album.
Taio Cruz has produced two tracks for the album (the title has yet to be announced) and the rest with US producer Dallas Austin.
Band member Harry Judd said: “We may have some additional production to do. There's half of it we haven't heard completely finished... “We've recorded most of it and left it with Dallas. He kind of works his magic with it and puts his synths on. So far the songs we've heard back we're really happy with.”
However, despite working with a pair of R&B-oriented producers on the album, the band insisted that they have not abandoned their old sound entirely, describing lead single ‘Party Girl’ as its most ‘extreme’ track.
Harry said: “There are a few [songs] on there that, if anything, are more old-school McFly than we had on ‘Radio:ACTIVE’”
Other band member Tom Fletcher added: “There's a lot of variety. Some songs are more soulful and sexy, and others are more ballady.”
McFly release their single ‘Party Girl’ on 6th September.

Limp Bizkit
Limp Bizkit have revealed that they have been good friends since reforming last year.
Limp Bizkit originally went on a break back in 2005 following an argument between lead singer Fred Durst and guitarist Wes Borland but have since said that their recent reunion has made them close friends.
Speaking to a music magazine Fred said: “The thing with the band right now is that we're not just getting along, we're actually all friends. That's the first time that's happened... “Something magical has been happening with us since early 2009.”
Fred also claimed that the band's reunion came as the result of them leaving a void in the industry that no other group could fill... “We all used to look at the void where we were and feel like nobody had really filled it in the time we were away - there's no other band in the world like Limp Bizkit... “There's definitely a place for a good, sincere, fun heavy rock band and we're happy to fill that slot once more.”
Limp Bizkit are due to play Leeds and Reading festivals this weekend.
