Black Eyed Peas

The comeback of the year award definitely has to go to “The Black Eyed Peas” (Sorry Whitney…)
Even though “The Peas” are dominating the charts all over the globe they are gearing up to release their 3rd single from their record breaking album “The E.N.D” (The E.N.D. stands for “The Energy Never Dies”) titled: “Meet me halfway”.
It’s a change in sound from their previous two singles, but still as brilliant and catchy! “Meet me halfway” which is released on November 2nd sees Fergie come more to the front vocally on this mellower track.
Click to listen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aRNQS5UCQQI

On September 8th the Black Eyed Peas performed live for Oprah Winfrey's 24th Season Kickoff Party, on Michigan Avenue in Chicago.
An estimated 21,000 dancers in the streets performed a “flash mob” to the live performance of “I Gotta Feeling” – Check it out by clicking the link below, it’s class!

Tinchy Stryder

Tinchy Stryder will release (probably the best song on his album) “You're Not Alone” on the 2nd November… Although I can’t help thinking I love this track so much ‘cos of the “Olive” sample! (Which was a massive No.1 back in 1996)
Either way this tune is going to be everywhere over the coming months and will be as massive as his No.1 single which was called “Number 1” (feat… N-Dubz)
Which version do you prefer?

Foreigner’s version is a classic that should NEVER be touched! Check out the two below … Mariah or Foreigner?

“When love takes over” (featuring Kelly Rowland from Destiny’s Child) has to be the best track on it though ~ it’s just a classic!

Beyoncé

BeyoncĂ© is gearing up to release her 4th single from her current album “I am Sasha Fierce”.
The track “Broken Hearted Girl” is a beautiful balled and one of the best tracks off the double C.D.
BeyoncĂ© is going to release a massive 8 SINGLES in total from the multi platinum album … I hope “Disappear” will be one of ‘em, as it’s one of the best ballads on the album!
Tickets for two concerts at "The O2" gig in Dublin have all been snapped up, but i'm hoping to get my hands on one! (i've seen her twice before, and she AMAZING live!)

JLS

Here it is girls (and some boys)… The new song and video from JLS “Everybody in love”.
The kids are gonna love it, the adults …. Mmm, well they might like the look of ‘em but as for the song, it isn’t great!
It appears there going down the cheesy boy band road (as in “Upside down” or "One True voice") – and we all know what happened to them (in fact some of you are probably saying “who” … and that would be my point)
Aston even looks like he’s in pain at some points!
Check it out for yourselves:

Skunk Anansie

Skunk Anansie are back on the scene after a massive 8 YEAR break and will release their new single “Squander” on 26th October.

A greatest hits album, “Smashes and Trashes” is due for release on November 2nd, it’s a 15-track album and includes three brand new tracks; “Because Of You”, “Tear the Place Up” and “Squander”. Click the link to watch / hear the fantastic new record:

David Jordan

David Jordan follows up his massive (and brilliant) debut album “Set the mood” with his second offering (as yet untitled) However, check out his Myspace site to hear the fantastic new Wideboy’s remix of his new single: “(Don’t wanna) hear you say” which is released on October 26th:

Pitbull

Now I was a fan of Pitbull’s last single “I know you want me” but his current single “Hotel room service” … What’s with all the sampling dude, don’t you know how to write your own tune? (“Hotel room service samples’ the club classic “Push the feeling on” by The Nightcrawlers”)
Why can’t he come up with his own sound ~ Is Pitbull’s 4th album “Rebelution” just full of samples?
“I know you want me” also sampled the club classic: “75, Brazil Street" by Nicola Fasano Vs Pat Rich”

Check out the difference’s ~ Which do you prefer? (For me, it has to be the originals):

Alan predicts that in 2010 Alexandra Burke will be as huge as Leona Lewis!
This is one of the best performance’s you’ll ever see live! I’ve watched this performance 100’s of times and ... well ... .... just watch it! And then leave your reaction...

Snow Patrol

Snow Patrol's new single 'Just Say Yes' show’s the lads back to their best, it’s brilliant! Gary’s voice is just brilliant; it’s an up-tempo song and a real fist clencher when you’ll hear it live! Should be available for you all to download late October / early November!
Click to hear: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qwvv1U8zrBI

Leona Lewis

Leona Lewis gave the first performance of her new single "Happy" on the final of America’s Got Talent and it was spectacular (as usual, she could sing the phone book though!).
This is gonna be another global smash! (not as good as bleeding love) Leona co-wrote the track with Ryan Tedder (from "One Republic")
Click below to watch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0LrsXRg7ZM8

Cheryl Cole

I’ve heard a few versions of Cheryl Cole’s new single “Fight for This Love” and probably the best is “The Thin Red Men” Remix, the track alone is actually quiet disappointing, especially as her debut (with Will.i.am) last year was a great track.
Click to listen for yourselves whatcha think?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-A7wVVVT-6M

"Fight for this love" gets it's U.K release on October 19th, I'm sure it'll be a huge smash, consider the exposure it going to get when Cheryl performs it on "The X-Factor"

Whitney Houston

Whitney Houston released her new album last week titled “I looked to you”, I picked myself up a copy while away and the verdict ... it’s brilliant!
Three tracks that stand out for me are: “I looked to you”, “Nothin’ but love” and her new single “Million dollar bill”
Defiantly worth ye all purchasing it!

David Cook

I went to see last years “American idol” winner: David Cook in Hollywood, C.A. and apart from a couple of “dodgy” songs, David was absolutely fantastic!
He even came out an hour before he was due on stage during his support acts set to sing a duet with them!
If your in the States (or even heading off for a holiday) look up to see’ve David is playin’ and get yourselves a ticket!

US Charts

“The Blueprint 3” shifted 476,000 copies this week, giving Jay-Z his 11th U.S. No. 1 album.
Jay-Z's No. 1 achievement has pushed him ahead of Elvis Presley as the solo act with the most U.S. No. 1 albums in more than 50-years of chart history.
Jay-Z now is the second artist with the most No. 1 albums, only the Beatles, with 19 No. 1s, have more.

Top 5 U.S. Singles:
5: Kings of Leon – “Use somebody”

Holiday's

From today I’ll be on holidays in my second home: HOLLYWOOD and then moving onto New York for a few days, hopefully my Laptop will work in my hotel so I can keep you all updated on the latest, but if it doesn’t my next blog won’t be until Friday 18th September.
Updates to look forward too will be of my concert to last years “American Idol” winner David Cook, “Pinks” concert in The O2 Dublin, all the latest charts news from both sides of the Atlantic, concerts scheduled in The O2 and of course all the latest CD Single and Album releases!

Eva Simons

“Is it Rihanna?, Is it Rihanna singing about Chris Brown? Is it Rihanna and Lady GaGa singing about Chris Brown?”… They were the rumours floating around on the internet when this track leaked onto “Youtube” back in May … but of course, they were all false.
“Silly Boy” is the debut single from Dutch Popstars winner Eva Simons.
This track is gonna be huge! It’s a great club track that will have everyone dancing around over the festive season when it’s released on October 12th – Can’t wait to get my hands on it!
Click to hear / watch the video: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xa0rb3_eva-simons-silly-boy-hq-official-mu_music

Eva Simons was part of girl band “Raffish” (with four other girls), They had a No.1 smash in the Netherlands called “Plaything”.
She made one album with “Raffish” titled “How Raffish Are You?” two other singles were released from their album, “Thursday's Child” and “Let Go”. The band broke up though in 2006.

The Saturday’s

Can “The Saturday’s” score their first U.K. No.1 with their latest offering “Forever is over”? … Probably not!
If their brilliant singles: “Work” and “Up” failed there’s no way this can get there… The song is okay, I think I prefer the more “Poppier” / dance sound, this kinda sounds like there shouting as oppose to singing … it’s catchy though!
Click to listen (no video yet): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-8jWFfCgPo
“Forever is over” is released on 5th October.
Their second album “Colonial Masses” follows a week later on October 12th

LMFAO

LMFAO are gearing up for the release of their debut U.K. single: “I'm in Miami Bi*ch”.
There’s a reason this song only got to No.51 in the U.S. and No.37 in Canada ... ‘cos it’s cr*p! (In fact, I say “only” ... I’m actually surprised it got so high in the charts!)
The video it just as bad... click and see for yourselves: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ysJyFAHwVP8
They sing “I’m in Miami” well... they should flippin’ stay there!

The song is originally titled "I'm in Miami Bitch", but it was edited for the radio release as "I'm in Miami Trick". In the Rap community, "trick" often replaces "bi*ch" on the clean versions.

Madonna

Finally its here! It took a while for me to find the official version, (as Warner has removed them all) but below is the link to Madonna’s new video “Celebration” (which also stars her daughter “Lourdes” and her new boyfriend, Brazilian model “Jesus Luz”) the song is taken from her 3rd greatest hit’s album (also titled “Celebration”).
I much prefer the Paul Oakenfold re-mix to this single version! Anyway, hurry and click the link to watch before this one is removed too!: http://popdirt.com/madonna-celebration-video/75877/

Chipmunk

Chipmunk returns with his new single “Oopsy daisy” which is released on 4th October, (his debut album “I am a Chipmunk” is to be released on 12th October) following up on his U.K. No.6 smash hit “Diamond rings”.
“Oopsy daisy” is just as good and catchy and is certainly gonna do well in the Top 10!
This young rapper from London certainly has bright future ahead!

The Cranberries

Irish band "The Cranberries" have announced that they will reunite after almost a seven year break for a tour of America and Europe, playing not only there new material but ther classic old hits to like "Dream" and "Linger."
In January The Cranberries got together in Dublin for the first time since the band (from Limerick) broke up in 2003.
"I've decided to reunite with my former band members in The Cranberries and we will be writing new songs and performing tracks off my new album as well as our greatest hits during the shows. I'd love to see you out there." Dolores O'Riordan stated on their official web-site: http://www.cranberries.com/
Stay tuned for tour dates / details…

Natalie Imbruglia

Natalie Imbruglia is getting ready to make a huge come back this month with her highly anticipated new fourth studio album "Come To Life" which is released on 2nd October, (Natalie has sold a massive 9 MILLION albums to date).
The first single to be taken from it marks a charge of direction for Natalie, as this is a much more dancer sound, the track called "Want" is released on 21st September.
The album features three writing collaborations with Coldplay (including the first single ‘Want’, which Natalie co-wrote with Chris Martin).
Click the link to listen to the track (No video yet though): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MFTBOus1ilM It’s certainly catchy! It’s hard to believe this is the same person who sang "Torn" all those years ago! (way back in 1997…)

Kambakkht Ishq

Kambakkht Ishq is an Indian Bollywood film that was released on 3rd July, I picked up the soundtrack while I was in India (in July).
(Actors including… Sylvester Stallone, Denise Richards, Brandon Routh and Holly Valance all have cameo roles in the film ~ playing themselves).
The soundtrack is actually quite good!, Sung both in Hindi and English, the songs themselves are mixture of slow and dance songs, the dance songs (with the right promotion) could actually be huge European hits.
Think Eurovision meets Bollywood … If you liked the song by AR Rahman & The Pussycat Dolls "Jai Ho" then you’ll love this! "Om Mangalam" is particularly catchy…
Click the link below to hear the album from the play list at the bottom of the page: http://www.bollyadda.com/2009/06/kambakht-ishq-songs-kambakht-ishq-songs.html
