How FANTASTIC!Arcade Fire have pledged to donate ONE MILLION Canadian dollars (£600,000) to a charity benefiting people who were affected by the Haitian earthquake, on the condition that the public give the same amount.
The band's co-founder Régine Chassagne helped launched the charity Kanpe, which promises to rebuild one Haitian village at a time.
According to an American newspaper the bands front man Win Butler said that Arcade Fire will match $1m worth of $5 (£3.20) donations from members of the public.
