CONGRATULATIONS to U.K star Jay Sean who ended The Black Eyed Peas record breaking reign at No.1

The BEPs have been at No.1 for 26 straight weeks with “Boom Boom Pow” (12 weeks) and “I Gotta Feelin’” (14 weeks), (smashing the prior mark of 19 straight No. 1 frames earned by Usher with a pair of his tracks in 2004).
On the album front Barbra Streisand has beaten Paramore, Mariah Carey and Madonna to the No.1 spot the US albums chart.
“Love is the answer” sold 180,000 copies last week to debut at the summit of the Billboard 200. It’s Barbra Streisands 9th No.1 album and her first since 1997.
Paramore's sold 175,000 copies, and Mariah Carey had sales of 168,000 also Madonna has to settle for No.7 with her greatest hits collection, selling 72,000.

Overall album sales in this past chart week (ending Oct. 4) are down 8% compared to the same sales week of 2008 (7.50 million).
Year to date album sales stand at 263.4 million, down 14% compared to the same total at this point last year (305.3 million).
