US Charts

Owl City returns back to the US No.1 spot for a second time in it’s chart run.
Also congratulations also goes to a previous American Idol winner Carrie Underwood who sold a massive 318,000 copies of her second album “Play on” “Play On” is the largest sales week for an album by a woman in 2009 and the second-best sales week for a country release behind Rascal Flatt’s “Unstoppable” which sold 351,000 in the first week of release.

1: Carrie Underwood – “Play on”

Overall album sales in this past chart week (ending 8th Nov) are down 2% compared to the same sales week of 2008 (7.02 million).
Year to date album sales stand at 294.4 million, down 13% compared to the same total at this point last year (339.3 million).
