The head record label Parlophone has urged Blur to make another album after they successfully completed their first new song in over seven years.
Blur split back in 2002 after guitarist Graham Coxon quit during recording sessions for their album ‘Think Tank’, However Blur recently got back together for a few shows last year, before heading back into the studio to record a new single, which will be released as a limited edition for ‘Record Store Day’ on Saturday (17th)April.
Speaking about Blur’s future, Parlophone president Miles Leonard said that he is keen to see them make a new record. He told BBC 6 Music: “They sound as competent and as strong as they've ever sounded before. I just hope that from hearing a song like this that the band feel there's more in them. We certainly do as a label and I'm sure when fans hear this they'll think the same.”
